St Neots based Sarah Wheatley has always been drawn to structures, buildings and cityscapes, and is inspired by travels, both her own and those of close family and friends. Wheatley often works in acrylics and constructs her paintings by using sharp lines and often includes a strong vanishing point within her compositions.

In contrast to Wheatley’s fast paced and vibrant night time cityscapes, City Series #9 uses a limited palette and alternative viewpoint to create an impression of everyday life in a city based on the artist’s own experiences.
