'Lizard Queen' is a transatlantic collaboration between New York based artist, Kosmo Vinyl, and Essex based Tad Blower. Having worked together on the 2021 'All Kinds of Naughty' Ian Dury inspired touring group exhibition, Tad and Kosmo decided to work together on this piece to 'celebrate' the platinum jubilee. The royal crown placed on an African sculpture is a juxtaposition open to interpretation.

Kosmo Vinyl

London-born, NYC-based Artist, cultural curator and legendary right hand man of The Clash and Ian Dury & the Blockheads. The former Londoner turned New Yorker Kosmo Vinyl is perhaps best known for his work with Ian Dury and The Blockheads and then with The Clash. Starting out at Stiff Records in 1976, he became a key figure in the London-based music scene. By the mid 1980’s, he had moved to New York City. Kosmo Vinyl first showed as an artist in London in 2010, at a group show tribute to the cartoonist/artist Ray Lowry. Since then he has appeared in several group shows in in the UK , Europe and U.S.A. These include the Spring Break Art Show, New York City, 2017 and the Grayson Perry curated 250th Royal Academy summer Exhibition 2018. Kosmo has also had one man exhibitions in London, Manchester and Somerset in England and Atlanta, Nashville, Pittsburgh and Washington D.C. in the United States. Kosmo’s latest work is the front cover for The Clash’s Record Store Day July 17th 2021 release “If Music Could Talk” LP. He also participated in the Thames Group of Artists’ “All Kinds Of Naughty” Ian Dury themed touring exhibition in London and England’s South East.

Tad Blower

Essex-born, Essex-based Artist, whose work is informed by nostalgia and forgotten popular culture. In 2009 he was commissioned to produce storyboards, graphics and animations for ‘Oil City Confidential’, Julian Temple’s award winning film on the Essex pub rock band Dr Feelgood, and Richard England’s TV documentary, ‘East End Babylon’. In 2017 his one man show, ’The man with the face from outer space on his faith and grace’ at the Cadiz Gallery Greenwich was a direct response to watching and listening to Blockheads bassist Norman Watt Roy and was described at the time as “Kandinsky Meets Pub-Rock”. In 2021 he assisting in curating and exhibited in the 'All Kinds of Naughty' Ian Dury inspired show with the Thames Group of Artists. In 2022 he has had a solo show of abstract paintings entitled 'Black Sun' which showed at the Brixton Art Club and the Triangle in Deptford Creek.
